WEST VILLAGE

For over 100 years, this small area below 14th Street and west of Broadway has been a Mecca to the creative, rebellious and Bohemian. Although today no starving artists could afford to live here, the vibe still lingers and the beat goes on.

Greenwich Village, an intimate and small town within a sprawling metropolis – a town within a town loved by artists, writers, actors and kindred spirits.  With its tree-lined streets, all named rather than numbered, it is difficult at times to remember that one is still in the New York City of today.

The streets of Greenwich Village are lined with shops offering anything you could ever want to buy.  Whether it is antiques, books, clothing, jewelry, music, housewares or just a cup of coffee at one of the many small cafes, this neighborhood offers something for everyone.

Everything is within walking distance so bring your sneakers.  Points of interest include Washington Square Park, 8th Street shopping, Astor Place shopping, New York University and Bleeker Street night life.
