The entire city bus fleet, operated by MTA/New York City Transit is lift equipped with kneeling features, wheelchair securement devices, public address systems, and spaces reserved for people with disabilities.
Bus fare is $2.00, which you can pay in coins, with a token or Metrocard. Since the introduction of the Metrocard several years ago, you can now transfer free between buses and from buses to subway, as well as enjoy economical day, week and monthly passes. The minimum cost for a Metrocard at a token booth is $4.00. Farecard machines are located in many subway stations, and many news stands throughout New York City.
