MIDTOWN WEST 


Also known as Hells Kitchen and Midtown West, this neighborhood is home to many young professionals attracted to the area because of its close proximity to Midtown, Central Park, Time Warner Center and Lincoln Center. Residents tend to work in the performing arts, fashion, advertising, media and recoding professionals.  


Because the area was once supported by breweries, slaughter houses, outdoor markets and the wharf, neighborhood shops and restaurants have a tradition of offering a wide variety of fresh and exotic food options.  Ninth Avenue is one of the city’s resources for of good and inexpensive ethnic restaurants.  A very good place to catch a bite to eat before the theater or for a weekend brunch.  Since the transformation of Times Square, the area has undergone a dramatic clean-up and economic revitalization.  


Points of interest include Carnegie Hall, Times Square, Time Warner Center, Theatre District.
